Using Stream instead of FileStream

Dec 13, 2009 at 2:25 PM

Hello,

I'd like to join to people here and those who didn't comment but think about this work as a great help and wonderful thing to use. :)

Personally, I've dropped use of J# distributable package in favor of using your class. Since I'd an original request to deal with streams (received via inet) i'd added a static method for opening archive via stream.

Since you typed your ZipFileStream to be System.IO.FileStream i had to downcast it to be base System.IO.Stream class so I can assign MemoryStream to it. Is there any particular reason to use FileStream type with the class? According to the code any stream supporting seeking is good, isn't it? In this case using FileStream strong typing isn't necessary.

Hello Leo,

Your request has been already considered  in the "wish list" (Issue Tracker section). I am planning to release before EOY.

Jaime.

Hi Leo,

I have released a new version of Zipstorer (2.30) with many stream-oriented methods. Please have a look and tell me if it works ok for you.

Thanks and best regards,

Jaime.
